My Texas, My Rangers!

Happy 4th of July!  A big THANKS to all who helped create and maintian the freedom of this great country.  As we celebrate our nation's independence, many of us enjoy events we love. As one commercial suggests, America was built around baseball, hotdogs, apple pie and Chevrolet (car brand).

While living outside of Dallas (Arlington), my family came to enjoy an annual pilgrimage to The Park at Arlington to watch our Texas Ranger's Baseball Team play.

We recently attended a game between the Rangers and the Oakland A's and despite what a former player (Josh Hamilton) feels - the towns around D/FW ARE all baseball towns!

Yu Darvish was our pitcher and I was excited to get to see him pitch.

The Ranger bullpen has a tradition where the rookies must share responsibilty for the wearing and care of a character backpack, which differs each year.  Joe Ortiz was the selected pitching newbie who had the honors at the game we attended.

Ranger, the Mascot (Horse) with his own security!

While at the game, we had to partake of the food!  Bar-b-que on a baked potato, sandwiches, peanuts, cotton candy, and so much more!

Even though we didn't win, my daughter always enjoys our time at the Park.
