Settling In: Anahuac Parsonage (Pastor's Home)

As of tonight, we have been in Anahuac 2 weeks as my husband received a new appointment to serve Anahuac UMC and Wallisville's Middleton Memorial UMC.  We were so blessed by our welcome.  I didn't cook a meal for a week!  The parsonage (home owned by the church for the pastor's use) was cleaned, the upstairs repainted, maintenance updates completed and the yard (2 acres) mowed.  The moving truck arrived on Friday morning and we were ready to have our "things about us" again.  The downside to this day was the heat - which gave 2 of our moving team early stages of heat stroke.

With the assistance of my sister-in-law, who came for 4 days to help us unpack, we were able to have everything in place, all boxes unpacked and artwork hanging on the walls in 1 week!!!

As you will see in these photos, the parsonage has wonderful space: 4 bedrooms (upstairs and downstairs masters), 3.5 baths and 2 living areas in a 1.5 story setting.  The Anahuac parsonage has a lovely back porch which receives a refreshing breeze from Trinity Bay which is 150 yards from the house.

Starting upstairs:
Upstairs Master being used by our daughter currently:

My sanctuary, a space to craft and be creative, something I've long dreamed for, with room to keep a weaving loom open and all my tools (toys) accessable.

We have a guest room, ready and waiting for visitors!

Our stairway decorated with family photos and our beloved Jack, an elusive and highly sought-after Jack-a-lope. Our upstairs hallway, leading to my crafting haven, is lined with closets and a great amount of storage!

Our formal living room (these boxes have since been unpacked) with a sleeper sofa.  Beyond the second arch, is our formal dining room.

Our family room is a great open living space with a fireplace and a wall of bookshelves.  At one end is our kitchen and an informal space for eating.  The kitchen has a breakfast bar also. The blanket in the floor belongs to our dog, Shea, who hasn't yet decided the best location for his toys!

Our downstairs master bedroom is really comfortable.  The sink and bath are located behind the vanity wall, to the side our our walk-in closet.

  2. So much SPACE! How nice to have a room for your toys, and leave your loom ready to go at any time.

    Happy for you!
