Swiss (Mock) Steak

This is a family favorite from my childhood.  It is easy, tasty and adapts to being made in a crock-pot.
Cooking it slow and low allows you to select a budget-friendly cut of meat.  Recently, we have discovered that using butcher tenderized thin round steak works out really well.

What you need:
Bell Peppers (Green, usually)
Onion
Pasta Sauce
Inexpensive Steaks
Rice

Putting it together - slice your peppers and onions.  Layer the veggies and meat, then cover it all with the pasta sauce.  Cover and cook on low - oven or crock-pot - for 3-5 hours.  Just before serving, cook up the rice.  Spoon the meat and sauce over the rice to serve.
